    WTB - 318i motor

I am doing a "first car" project with my son. We located a '91 318is that has a bunch of suspension work, brand new rims/tires and new clutch and sundry of other work that was done less than 2K ago. The PO forgot that these engines also need oil to work and somehow ran it without oil. So, while I personally want to do an M52 swap, I've raced sportscars (mostly Porsche and a Spec E30 for awhile) since he was 5 and I just know that a 6 is going to get him into trouble. So, if anyone has a good running 1.8 that they are getting ready to swap out, I'd love to talk to you. Drop me a message via the board or just email me at eric@theruperts.net. you'll have to answer the anti-spam challenge in order for your email to get through the first time.

    Thanks

I am also looking at swapping in a 320 Euro motor that is for sale near my house if anyone has thoughts on that. Again, logic would dictate that it's a lot to spend on not so much HP but I think he'll be better off in the end. Maybe a couple years down the road we'll put a big motor in it.

an m42 would just drop in without modification. for the price and similiar hp, that would be your best bet. also, no timing belt to snap.

I have a m50 for sale. off e34 so the oil pan IS there. It also has the OBD1 HARNESS.
