Well I do all my own body and paintwork, so no labor costs. As for the shell, yeah it definitely needs work, but I've made a lot of progress so far. Besides that, in my opinion, it's the best year and color combo for a 325is so I'm set on bringing it back to life.

thats cool. i see you have an attachment to this vehicle. zino cars are pretty easy to come by though. i recently had a straight rust free 89 zino 325is that i sold for 2k. out of curriosity, what is the advantage of having an 89 over a 90 or 91? the only difference i can think of would be the airbag. it is easy peasy to take out the srs computer(4 bolts and a plug) and change the steering wheel. generally, no matter how much work you do to a rusty car, it is still a rusty car when you get done even if it doesn't look like it (for a short while). i am not trying to sell you anything. however, i would be happy to help you look for a vehicle down in these parts and help you arrange shipping for it.

I'm not sayings it's a real big deal or really rare or anything, but from what I've seen over the years, a Zinno 325is with original black leather and a 5 speed doesn't come along that often. I'm always keeping an eye on the classifieds. By best year, yeah, I just meant lack of airbag and the first year for plastic bumpers. Plus, '91s were a sport option and not techinically "is" models.

But either way, by cutting out the rusty parts completely and welding in good panels, the car won't get rusty again as long as I do the job right and keep it off the salty roads. It's not as though I'm just grinding down the rust and then painting over it and crossing my fingers. Of course, the rust would come back then.

ok i got some pics of the underside. For some reason i can't get all of them to upload, if you want to pm your email i can try sending them there. I can cut the battery tray area out tomorrow. I'll be going to gfest this weekend. If your going i'll bring it. The only problem with the other portions is that my brother still has the interior in the car. I have to wait for him to remove it before i start cutting up the floor pan. I've been on him to do it and he will soon. If you can't wait for them i understand, but i'm trying to get him moving on his interior very soon.

I just got the taillight panel, so I'm set there. Otherwise, anything I have listed in the first post is fair game except bmwstudent seems to have a good battery tray for me. Any pics you have would be great.
