Looking to convert my convertible to manual as my motor and usual parts have broken. I you have the lock handles cables send me a pm and a photo of what you have.
You may need a different "boot" (lid)that covers the top when it is down. The electric version doesn't have clips to hold it down like the manual ones: it is like a big U shaped open end that is pulled down by the electric motor. The manual ones also have a way to support the bottom of the shock absorbers, but the electric ones don't. (didn't need it) Most of the time, those shocks are blown anyway, and you just hold up the boot (lid) anyway...
Having said that, I did this conversion, and the "boot" NEVER comes up no matter how fast you drive. Just know that on a big bump, it may lift a little bit. Make sure the top is securely tucked in place so that the "boot" rests flat on the car, and you will be fine.

Isn't that part "3" shown in the realoem diagram? I was assuming I could bolt that part onto my ex-electric storage flap.
