    WTB: 318ti

Looking for a damaged, blown engine, something, cheap 318ti. No real preference in color, do prefer body part damage, but will take unibody damage if the right car comes along. No salvage.

If you know someone or know a yard that has one, lemme know.

Dan, I know riding on those horrid warped Kopis might have shook the few brain cells left in your head a bit much, but what does a motor have to do with me looking for a friggin 318ti? Just curious.

      :)

Sort of a contradiction, don't you think??

Good luck with your search, I've been watching these as they come up at the salvage auctions, and even the completely smashed ones are holding their value pretty well.......I guess there are alot of folks who DO like these cars.

Nah, not a contradiction, but crappy way of putting it. If there's damage, I prefer that it's body parts - hood, fender, bumpers, doors - as opposed to unibody damage. Hopefully that clears it up a bit.

I seem to be pondering a Ti more and more recently too.

Post what you plan to do with it!

Try to find an automatic one. They come with either a 4.27 or 4.45 rear end (can't remember which, either is still ridiculously short), and hope they ordered the LSD option. I'm sure one of the guys who autocrosses his 318is would kill for it.

Well, it's for my gf. I have a 93 318i that I was going to put together for her, but got an offer on it, so now the only way she'll let me sell it is to find her a 318ti - she loves them, and heck, I love them too ;) The plan is to work on some cosmetic mods this winter - cf hood, paint, interior, etc, and rock the stock M44. Drive it next summer, and next winter, the M50 will come out of my car to make room for an S50, and she'll get the M50. I LOVE 318ti's with M/S50's in them - talk about sleepers. And they're the lightest E36 in the bunch.

Exactly. The rear suspension is considered a drawback, but hell we already deal with them on our cars. They're lighter, cheaper, and a LOT more practical than any other E36. I don't think they look as nice as a 2-door coupe, but function > form.

I'm gonna go look at pricing now.

Screw that - I think they look cooler. The e36 coupes are so fat and overweight, IMO. Besides, it's for the gf - the rear suspension is fine for her.

Let me know what you find...

Can't hurt to just call and ask about them:

                      http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ca...amp;cardist=34

And at least one of those is pretty close to you.

Good Lord they're cheap, just went through the local listings.

I'm seriously going to crunch some numbers now. I may have a new daily, gonna research the Ti a bit more.
