    So I think it depends on whether you have plastic or aluminum heater pipes. I know there are different part numbers for the core.

    Anywho, I have a valve in my car right now that works fine. I plan on replacing both it and the core as preventative maintenance during my engine swap. Here's the rub, I had a blown head gasket so there is a decent chance that both the valve and core had choco milshake coolant flow through them which most likely left some oily residue.
