    working si board

I need an early model si board apparently. i have bought a working late model thinking it would work considering it is an 89 but i thought wrong. let me know what you have and how much you would like for it.

    should look something like this.

OP - if your car is an 89, you don't want an early SI Board...the early / late boards do not interchange at all..they have different # of pins and led's.

Now, do you have an EARLY cluster in your 89 or something?

well i got a board with the smaller Li batteries, and the one that was originally in the cluster were the ones that look like the AA pictured above. when i put the board with the smaller batteries it fixed my tach and mpg gauge but the fuel and temp gauge started going crazy which never was a problem. i do have a motometer cluster Om not sure wether that is the difference but i do know the two boards i picked up with the Li batts both did the same thing.

You don't want the board with the old style batteries, it sounds like you have multiple issues most likely. Do you have an early or late cluster? Is it blue back? How many service lights does it have? VDO and Motometer si boards are interchangable.

its a motometer with a blue back. the board that came out had the old style batteries. the only thing that didnt work with that board and the bad batteries was the tach, mpg, temp. when i switched it over to a board with the new style batteries mpg, tach, worked and the fuel level was erratic when i filled it up it wouldnt get barely past empty. and the temp gauge would do the same just get off cold. i figured i should replace it with the style that was originally in the cluster.

5.1.1 = late model cluster / late model si board. this has been covered to death on this forum and e30tech...get another tested late model board.

type of batteries is not the problem here (it's another problem on it's own though and thats why you WANT the late model with the smaller batteries that don't leak).
