I need a working rear door lock actuator for the rear driver's side door on my 1991 318i.

Well, I do have 4 of these.
Now the question is how to tell the LR from the others.

They are different, change over occured in 05/90 production date.

I have one of the later type and bunch of the earlier ones.

will your later type one fit my driver's side rear door on my 1991 318i (build date 2/1991)? If so, how much for part & s&h?

I looked and found that 2 of them are exactly the same p/n. The other 2 seem to be each unique. Can't read the p/n on one of them though. These are from an '89. Appears that there was a running change in march 91 advise check your production date. If I were you I'd pull the thing to make sure. Just last year I got screwed by a running change on a fuel pump for my 318is.

I looked at the later type that I have and the plastic part at the end of rod is much bigger than earlier type. Best for you would be to take it off and snap a pic, because I found two different mentions of change over date in ETK one in 05/90 as I mentioned and another in 3/91 as he said above.

Also earlier type actuator bolts up the the door while newer style is attached to a door lock.
