    Wtb/wtt 2.73 Lsd

My friend has officially asked me to find him one. He's got a 6 six e30 and wants a 2.73 to open it up on the autobahn. 260km/h isn't enough he says. So...... he's willing to buy/trade parts for one. I'll need it shipped via USPS and you'll either have to break it down into parts or just ship the internals.... He's got smoked hella's, smileys, fogs, steering wheels.... you name it and if its a good trade he'll get it for you. Let me know.

Honestly... I don't know. I don't know if anyone has one that they've made or if there was ever anything that came with one. He told me that there was a model that had one..... but his german is much better than mine and I couldn't understand him. He's german by the way..... I'm sure if its hard to find here.... its impossible to find there..... but then again....you'll never see a 4.10 lsd here..... although he said he has a 4.56? or 4.46? for an e30?

US 1985 325e, came with sport seats. Lots of them were LSD equipped as well.
I have one in good condition. May be intersted in a trade for smoked Hellas. I need details. New, used? As long as it's fair for both of us, I am up for trades anytime.

If your e has a 2.73 lsd in it I'm sure we can trade. They are smoked hella's.... used. I can get connectors and euro grils to go along with it if you want. The main thing is that you have what he needs. Getting you parts is the easy part..... finding what he needs is the hard part.

there is no 2.73 for US cars.

he is looking for a 2.93LSD

I have one, $350 shipped to a US address.

Dont want to swap parts unless he wants to send me a 4.45LSD or 3.96LSD
            Below the radar...

He can get 2.93s.... he's got 4 of them. He wants a 2.73 he said. So.... guess it doesn't exist over there. I'm thinking of picking up the 4+lsd honestly just cause I've never ever heard of it.

What all ratios were made in the states? Cause he was throwing out some shit I thought only came in fords and such......

I have a 2.79 LSD out of my 85 323. PM me and I'll get back to you. It may take me a couple hours to respond.

There's not 2.73, but we do have 2.79s. They should be in early 325s.

Off the top of my head, here are some numbers

common 6 cyl E30 ratios are:

                    2.79- early 325e
                    2.93- other 325e/es
                    3.73- 325i
4.10- 325i- late with auto tranny

                    common 4 cyl e30 ratios:
                    3.91- early 318i (m10)
                    4.10- late 318i/is (m42)
                    4.27- late 318iC ('92-93 E30)

other ratios such as 3.25, etc are found in E28's and are direct swap, but were not installed in E30's at the factory (at least for US cars....)

Well, if you want to get picky..........then you forgot the 410LSD in the 325iX automatics.......... ;)

but keep in mind that the iX LSD's are viscous, not clutch-type like the others. You can still use them, but they are different.

Found out that here in deutschland the 2.73 was used on eta cars, m3's and 316 318 kombi (tourings) and 323's. Also there was a 4.46 in the tourings along with a few other cars. I guess since there were so many different models here there were a lot more options. Also since some cars were used mainly for around town driving (Berlin cars or Hamburg cars) and then some were used for mainly autobahn driving there were more options as to what ratio you could have.

That said.... the request for the 2.73 has been retracted. We found a 323 wrecked on the side of the road and bought the whole thing on the spot from the guy for 50 euro. ;) Gotta love the mother land.
