the convertible has the best ride in it's factory stock setup, I lowered the car with Bilsteins and H&R springs, it looks good it looks lowered but the ride suffered a lot, I have an Mtech with factory Mtech setup , one of the best setups, lowered and much more comfortable than any e30 and handles awesome .
any pic of yr ride?

I really don't know what the setup is for the M tech , I got the H R springs specified for convertibles on my regular convertible .
something must be different between the Hardtop and soft top models springs
the M tech came with M tuned suspension, I guess somewhere between the E30 M3 and the regular E30 setup.

H&R/Bilstien rides like crap on 'verts for some reason. I had it for a while and it was terrible. But when I upgraded to Ground Control coilovers, even though the springs were technically stiffer, the ride improved by miles and miles.
I've also heard M3 springs ride great on 'verts. Bottom line is go with M3 springs and Bilstiens or go Ground Control. Also get the Raceskids x-brace and a strut brace, they will improve the chassis stiffness immensely.Comment

The front springs are the same on 318 verts and coupes
The front springs are the same on 325 verts and coupes
The rear springs springs are the same on 318 and 325 verts (different for coupes)
I'm running Billy sports, Eibach Pro with Race Skid cross brace and Sparco strut brace. Eibach pro is genereally considered softer than HR. I also have adjustable camber in the rear subframe. I'm pretty happy with the ride, sporty but not harsh.Comment

aright guys thanks. i didnt think much about getting the x-brace and strut brace. i was thinking to get race spec camper plates and I3 springs, change most of my mounts to poly and just take it from there. i want to get a complete coilover kit but currently dont have a million dollars in cash so this should be fine i guess. Thanks againComment

Don't change your suspension without stiffening the chassis first. It will literally shake your car apart. Stiff suspension attached to a floppy chassis is a recipe for shitty ride and handling.Comment
