    Interesting, thanks for the info. Is there any chance that the Denso I have has the same fittings as any of the others? Perhaps one of the other brands is better quality or more durable.

    I've heard the swash plate design of the Denso isn't the most durable and it seems the the Sanden units used in my VWs are far better lasting.

      It is possible for you to retrofit rebuilt compressors (that's a hit or miss in my experience) and even other model ones provided you redo the fittings and lines as well. However, the denso unit itself isn't as bad as one may think. the swash plate only sucks provided the unit has been opened up and half the time it gets fudged up because of DIY error.

      In general, this unit is the most economical because the internal seals can handle the r134a refrigerant and oil since they do not use viton seals like others. it's built during the transitions from r12 to r134a

        Got it, well it looks like I'll keep looking for a 10p15e then. Hopefully, I'll have a little more luck this time.

                    Just out in Harrisburg the other day for a wedding, but the chances of getting the time to drive out again in the near future are slim unfortunately.
