    international shipping info wanted

hey guys i've never shipped anything to anywhere outside of the US but have been asked to ship a rear diff over to Europe anybody with international shipping experience have any advice for doing it without costing an arm and a leg, a quick check of fedex's website calculator is showing it as being about 600 in shipping, yikes!

    thanks

You should be able to ship just the guts for less. Depending on the size, they can just use their housing.

Should be less than $40 if you use their flat rate boxes

I've always shipped international priority flat rate. Most of the stuff I've ever sent out was in their $15 small flat rate boxes; not sure how the larg ones will be though. International stuff comes with shipping quotes and everything too, so you can track it until it leaves the borders. Just make sure you write a value of "$0" on the customs paper, cause if you dont, the person your shipping to is gonna get shacked with fee's before the item can get released

A diff wont fit in a flat rate box.

OP: if the customer wants the entire diff, your best bet is to build a wooden box and bolt the diff to the box. Or put it in a rubbermaid cooler w/ lots of packing & even more tape. There is no way to send it cheap.
