wtb zinno red fender and hood no call

currently in san jose but im on a road trip.

could even show up at your door step.

any tips for ones in junkyards.


mostly the passenger fender. i think the hood is going to be easy.

Anyways, its going to be hard to get a fender off without a heat gun and thin putty knife to warm up the adhesive and separate it off the chassis.

there are a ton of e30s in the san jose pick n pulls. About 5 each.

no red ones.

the one they called red in south san jose was burgenrot. has all the fenders and hood in nice condition though

I have all the e30s in pick n pulls on a printout.
theres 1 red vert in moss landing ( monterey)
1 in racho something in sac
1 in antelope which is sac.
1 in modesto
2 in stockton.

1 in oakland.

if i skip monterey cause thats the other direction and go oakland, modesto, stockton sac i will see 6

and if i skip modesto thats 5 on a route that goes from oakland to stockton direct. so thats kind of the top plan. because monterey is 50 south, then 50 back north. but it would be nice to see monterey anyway.
thats it as far as pickn pulls. Im thinking more along the lines of, someone having seen a red one with their own eyes recently.

The advice that there are body parts in junkyards is valuable to someone Im sure but not what i was getting at.

e30 fenders arent glued on with anything. Id swear ive taken off about 4 now, and all the ones I looked at that day I at least looked at to try and see if theres any truth to what you just said about a heater gun.....

still have never found one. although I know exactly what youre talking about its like that with nissan and toyota trucks both.


where is there adhesive on a e30? i mean, there must be some model..

I meant where the fender bolts onto, if it doesnt have it then it doesnt, its on most other bmws but never bothered looking on the e30s.

Ive got the glue on both my trucks that you are talking about. But Ive never seen it on any other car. I think the fender glue is actually for cars older than an e30

yeah they usually have a ton of e30s, not so much at sacramento and modesto despite a big population. Years ago that was a different story however :|

I would say per capita sacramento is actually the most junkyarded place I have ever been to.

Rancho whatever is a giant junkyard. auto dismantler etc. I believe it is the metal recycling hub of northern california where corona is of southern california.

Yeah, i go to them all pretty religiously, they are still putting e30s out, but its hit or miss despite the size of the yard unfortunately. The bay area yards, stockton, and fresno are usually good ones.

well there is a red one in modesto, its just kind of a back track.

theres a direct freeway to stockton from oakland, but then modesto is a back track.

whereas theres 2 red ones in the sacramento area going the other way.

so I mean as soon as I find one the trek is over. But I can hit stockton and decide after then if i want to see modesto.

oh btw
bmw e30 fenders have 1 spot where there is fender glue, the topmost bolt nearest the window.

if you take all the bolts off you can take it off with your hand no tools necessary . glue stays on the body you dont even feel it fighting.does not seem to be sticky glue if you follow, just shock absorber glue.

the fender is 8 mm ratchet

the hood is 10 mm and 13 mm ratchet. disconnect the wiper thing too.

Heck - you hit all those pick and pulls - did you remember seeing any passenger side alpine white II fenders for 89 coupe?

....I have a totally faded zinno hood here in Marin.
