I believe only thing you need to be from a 1987 is the wiring harness.

I am putting an '89 m20b25 in with an '87 harness. I was told it should be 100% plug and play.

this is true! i acctually just found this out, and i may be getting an 87 harness so acctually the only other thing i need is the "i" engine!

BTW pm me and let me kknow how your build goes, like with the wiring harness and engine and everything.
