the driveshafts are balnced as a unit, unless you have a way to balance with the half that you have it will most likely shake violently

Even if it did, just find a local driveshaft shop and they will do it for cheap.

I've got one on my 84 325e. From what I remember it was probably a replacement since it looked nice and worked well.

Not sure how much they cost to ship though...
