But there is a catch, it has to be modified to fit an early model. I know it sounds lame but I don't want to have to mess with any body work. Please no flaming just let me know if you have one.

the bumper shocks must be shortened (EDIT: in order to use the original shocks) and there is some slight modification to the front corners of THE BUMPER... (it is too long- goes past the tire well)
the plastic bumper also needs the stock plastic slides on the side of the quarter panels from a plastic bumper car so you will need to either screw the bumpers DIRECTLY into the quarter panel (I recommend using about 1" self-tapping screws) or REmount the slides by screwing them into the quarter panels in line... the first being MUCH easier...
SO...
BOTH of you are right... there is modding to BOTH needed...
here's the catch though holmes... you wont find one that has already been cut unless someone decides to try to market them so if you can get a rear plastic bumper at a good price get it, line the bumper up, then get a dremmel... its really not that hard even for an amateur to do and it is DEFINITELY worth doing... for Gods sake look at Jordans car... his car would not be the Godly machine it is w/o his plastic bumper swap... (ahum...and painted bumpers/moldings)
(wasn't flaming just trying to give you some informative advice- hope it helped :) )Last edited by BMWguy; 01-11-2006, 01:42 AM.Comment

What Mod?
Here's the car BEFORE:
And the Car AFTER:
I used the following:
rear bumper shocks from 1990 325i
both sliders 1990 325i
headlight " fatty" mounting screws to hold the sliders to the side
You will still need a rear apron in the end for the bottom.
1989+ bumpers, shocks, and sliders will work.
I did not do any shortening or had anything modified for this. The hardest part was to line up the slider on the quarter panel- even that wasnt bad. Got the front and the back done less than 3 hours- and that was my first time trying to add plastic to a older rideComment

Now Now Nathanial, dont spread misinformation. You do no shortening of the shocks you just add the plastic bumper shocks. The trimming of the bumper ends and mouldings are the hard part. Everything else is failry easy. I dont have a bumper to sell, I wish I could help. Good luck finding one.
