If you have carpet already, you could try buying a vinyl paint from auto zone and spraying the carpet black. Make sure its clean then spray And after it dries, walk on it a bit to soften it up. Worked great for a buddy who went tan to black. Its like 6 bucks a can and you probably need only 1 or 2 to do it right. Just a suggestion

I did the same thing it works great. It takes three or four coats. In between coats use a bristle brush on it.

I dyed my grey carpet black using Dylon powder dye. I think it was this one but I can double check if you want...



Mix with boiling water and spray on with a spray bottle. Worked great!
