    WTB late E30 driveshaft 87-91??

I am looking for a good driveshaft for my 325i. I have a 1990 so I think only the driveshafts after 87 will work. Anyone have one floating around? I called the local junk yards and I cant seem to find one. Any local leads on one would be appreciated too.

    Oh yeah its a 5spd

Do the autos share a common back end? Is it just the front that is shorter on the autos? I assume the center bearing is in the same spot. I guess 1/1 a shaft would get me closer... of course I would have to balance it

I believe they do have the same back end. it is the front that's shorter. I have a 90 325IS that I'm parting out, I'll take a picture of it on Monday.

Let me know when you get the pic up. I am going to be going out of town tomorrow for a week. I will check periodically during then. Is your 325is a 5spd? If so I might be interested in the pedal box too.

Most used E30 driveshafts I've seen recently have had notchy rear u-joints. I have probably scrapped 10 of them in the past year because they were too notchy to sell as "good". The only good one I have had was a recently rebuilt one with replaceable u-joints that came in a 325is Auto parts car.

If you buy a used driveshaft, have the seller feel the rear joint- if it has a spot in it where it sort of stops, then it's notchy and you'll probably feel it when you put it in your car. The other common failure seems to be u-joints that get too tight or loose.....

                Just FYI.....

Good info and absolutely right! I can get you a driveshaft for $130 plus shipping... that is me driving to my parts supplier about 30 miles away paying him $125 then sending to you... that allows for $5 for gas and the time it takes me to box and ship the product...

Sorry I have been on vacation last week and I am slow at getting back to you. Where are you located? How much would shipping be to 55128 roughly? I would prefer to find a local junk yard with one.
