I guess I was under the impression that the 240 would deal with the 10 degree shift on the M50 instalation and that all MT crossmembers wetre the same. I guess I was wrong.
Anyone have a 240 crossmember that doesn't look like this? Or am I doing something wrong?
You have the correct crossmember. There is no difference between the G260 and M42 G240 crossmember. They are the same exact part.
When you install the M50, sometimes the engine and transmission don't sit correctly. My suggestion is to loosen the engine mounts and pull the front of the engine up again using just the front engine hook, and slowly set it back down again. Hopefully this allows the engine and transmission to pivot on the rear transmission mounts and crossmember, and re-aligns things. Try this a few times if it doesn't work on the first try.
I have a spacer under the passenger side mounting arm to help exhaust clearance, didn't seem to make much difference. I'll see if I can muscle it around....
