    wtb: ES/IS front spoiler brackets

I need the plastic brackets to hold on the IS spoiler to the front of my car, anyone have a set? I have the bar that runs the width of the spoiler, but I need the 3 hard plastic brackets that bolt to that bar and the car.

I'll take new, used, or if you can point me in the direction of new ones, that'd be cool. I think these are NLA at the dealer, correct me if i'm wrong

    Thanks!

    Jeff

I'd like to see them, I may be interested in a set.

I made them as I broke mine lol so the set I have are all a little different, (aka whatever material was laying around...) I might just make a set regardless and have them, seems to be a popular breakable

I couldn't find them on the BMA site do I need to call?

What did you make them out of Snowmann? I was thinking of doing the same out of some 1/8" strips of metal

Nope, they are NLA, and have been for a while.

Good luck finding them, I saw a set on Ebay a couple of months ago that went for ~$100

Ill see if I have time to make a set this weekend, I still have one perfect condition plastic one, ill make a jig off of that and make a set for starters... I used steel on mine, but contemplating giving aluminum a whirl

My brother in law are considering fabricating them on a CNC from aluminum and selling them, if there's enough interest. We have them drawn in AutoCAD already.

Didn't Jordan have plans to get these machined once...

I really dont see the point in making billet brackets... way too much wasted material, and completely over built. No offense or anything but I think the price of a set of machined billet pieces would be extremmely high once all costs are incured.

The ones I made personally are bent strap and iirc 2 welded joints...

I ripped my airdam off twice screwing around in the winter time and both times the brackets escaped unscathed.

the plastic ones are just too brittle and Im thinking that maybe they're designed to break rather than breaking the airdam or its other associated mounting flanges etc...

I have started to make my own, it seems very easy. I bought some 1/8" x 3/4" strips of steel at home depot for $4, I have one bracket(that i had to glue all together) and i am using it as a template, really all you have to do is bend a big sqaure out of the metal and weld, or even pop rivit, it shut, then drill 3 holes. Since its not plastic, you don't really need the center bar(although i may stick it in there anyways. I'll post some pics of the finished product. It will be much stronger and more durable than the factory part.

BTW, why the hell would BMW make this break-a-way part nla??

Why because it costs money to make parts for 15+ year old cars that in comparison to other cars on the road make up like 3% of BMW cars period...

                          maybe thats why

Dont be surprised if lots of parts end up being NLA in the next couple of years as the surplus is drained

And your strap basically looks like the ones I made, Although I used a little bit beefier metal on mine personally... Not really needed but its what I had laying around
