Isn't the only difference between Euro & USA parts the location of the licence plate holes? Will the US tag cover the Euro holes?

The euro one is flatter, there's space for the long euro plate, the USA one bulges out around the plate so no.

The early ones are the same for Euro and US, except for the holes which are covered by the plate.

That's where I got the notion - I purchased the Euro filler for our '85 325e and added the proper holes for USA plates.

....I was thinking the same. I got a buddy who can weld and work with fiberglass. Once the weather gets better (and if I still have not gotten one) I may do the same.
