    Wanted: Late model cluster

    Hello guys,

I've been experiencing the usual problems with my 325i cluster (flickering/frozen tach, non working fuel/consumption gauges). I've already replaced my batteries with two CR2 lithium ones but the problem continues, so I assume either the SI board and/or the general board are faulty.

I don't mind if the odo gears are broken (I've just replaced mine, and the speedo works just fine) or if it comes from an eta (would swap tacho/coding plug as well). Almost forgot, should come from a late model (mine only has one yellow light on the Inspection indicator).

Should anybody have an "i" or "e" cluster, and is willing to ship overseas, I would appreciate if you sent me a PM.

    Thanks a lot in advance

    Regards
    Guido

Guido, why not have your current cluster fixed? There's a guy on here that fixes our clusters and to me it makes sense to get the cluster fixed instead of buying a used cluster with unknown condition.

Contact Gregs///M and he can help you out.

Problem is, this is my daily driver, and I've found out that alternator won't charge if the cluster's missing (yes I learned it the hard way).

Didn't know about Greg, will contact him and we'll see if I get it sorted. Thanks man!!

All you have to do for the alternator to charge is jumper the solid blue and solid green wire on the blue connector on the back of the cluster.

I daily drive my E30 and I actually have my cluster at Gregs shop as we speak and I'm driving around with no cluster.

One thing that I found out is when cluster is removed and wires jumped for alternator to charge is that when you go shut off your car...it doesn't shut off. I turn the key back and pull it out and radio, A/C and everything besides the engine shuts off. Luckily I have a manual so I leave car in gear, pull e-brake, press brakes and release clutch to stall engine.

I will hopefully get my cluster back next week but have been driving it for 1.5 weeks this way and battery stays charged with no problems.
