I know of a very nice m42 engine down here in Southern California. Just had the head resealed and a valve job completed. It currently resides at a very respectable BMW shop. I'm sure the owner would let it go for a good price.

I have an m42 with completely rebuild top end.
-valve job
-head decked and tested
-new head gasket
-new studs
-new chain
-new chain tensioner
-new chain guides
-all new gaskets wherever needed, and some places they werent lol
-new hoses where needed
-Re sealed the oil pan upper and lower
-new alternator and all other accessories with new belts

probably some other things I am forgetting

I have put about a grand into this motor and have the receipts to prove it. I will let it go for a good price pm me for more details. motor located in SoCal
