Hey ya'll, I have a 3.91 medium case open diff in my touring, I'm looking to trade my diff + cash for a good condition S3.73 only, no 4.10; too short for me. If I get it welded, straight trade.
Great ratio for you guys who daily drive your track prepped e30's (or track your daily driven e30!). Wont be wringing your rpm's out at freeway speed, but you still get great acceleration. Perfect compromise between the 3.73 and 4.10 final drives.
I can get it welded at work at my cost if need be for you drifters. I used to run OEM BMW lsd's in my old e30 drift car, but they were all worn(20+- y/o) and gave me a hard time at slower speeds or if my trasnitions were too abrupt, which would unload the inner tire, and caused me to grip up.
To that extent, having a welded diff (with solid subframe bushings and diff bushing) really makes a world of a difference as the car is exponentially more predictable than a car with a worn out OEM 2-way.
Use the link I've attached to input your rev limit, gear ratios, and final drive in order to calculate Rpm/mph throughout the gears.
I'm willing to drive up to 2 hours from 10924 to exchange diffs, or you can come to me and pick it up.
