The late model motors rarely go bad. It could be a combination of bad front/rear switches or lockout switch. I'd double check this if I were you! Don't mean to derail your thread but I've experienced the same thing with a 4 door late model. -
I could hear the motor trying briefly. Then, I tried to get it out to get at the motor but the window was stuck up. I tried for 2 hours to get the bolts at the glass undone while the window was in the up position but to no end. I finally had to cut the cable to lower the window and get at those two fricken bolts. Even with no resisitance now, the motor would not turn, and it in fact is getting power as evidenced with multimeter. The other one is in the same predicament.
If the lockout switch was bad, would the lights on the switch turn out when you try to lower using the front switch? That combined with the fact that I could hear the motor briefly try leads me to believe that although unusual, the truth really is that I have two bad motors. They didn't break at the same time though- one didn't work for like 2 years and I just ignored it and then finally the second decided to join in.
I hate this crap- stuff like this makes me consider selling the car.E30 M52B28Comment
