WTB: Early model fuel tank SoCal

Looking for a fuel tank for an early model (the one with one opening). It should be clean without rust. Thanks!

Fyi I just converted to late model tank, easy to do. The late model tank is less prone to starvation and holds more fuel.

How easy or difficult was the switch? Do you have links to a DIY?

The switch was fairly simple. Things to watch out for is the early fuel filter will not fit with the late model tank. I used a small aftermarket filter.

The late tank also uses two fuel level sensors. The early uses 1. So the late tank has a 120 ohm gauge. I deleted the drivers side sender and added a secondary transfer pump to feed the main pump. You can just leave the drivers side sender unplugged so your gauge still reads correctly.

The connectors are changed as well for the late tank.

Some fuel lines are routed differently. The late tank has the fuel return integrated into the tank rather than returning to the fuel pump. other than that it bolts straight in.

I'm not aware of a DIY
