    WTB: M42 Cylinder head..

We're working on cylinder heads in school right now, and I have the opportunity to make one that's bulletproof :) BUT this is however my first one, and I don't want to buy a new reconditioned one for $500.. SO if anyone has a spare cylinder head for an M42 engine from the 91 318iS, plz let me know a price! I prefer it to be low mileage, not cracked, and possibly pressure tested XD .. I know, beggers can't be choosers lol

thx nitro, but I dont wanna spend more than like 200 bucks shipped... its the first cylinder head i'll ever grind and cut up on, so I don't want it to be a 300 dollar F up...

I'm pulling an m42 from my 318is this weekend. The engine is in absolutely horrible condition, so I'd let the head go for $125 plus shipping. It has 210k miles and sounds like a diesel. Valve noise and knocking. BTW - I took good care of the car the PO didn't. I bought it a few years ago just for the body knowing it had a bad engine and have used it as a DD. I'm sure the head would need new guides and have the valve seats ground. I know of no cracks in the head etc as it has been driven without any overheating or coolant loss issues. I should know by Tues. that it will be available. Shipping would be from 66214 by the carrier of your choice.

I dont sell junk parts. So the best I can do is 225 shipped on one that has about 180k.

EDIT: Both M42 heads sold to a lurking member. Thanks
