    WTB: 325is plastic radio cage

I have a 89' 325is I'm trying to install an original radio into.
However, the previous owner ripped it out doing an aftermarket radio install.

The metal cage/container won't work, so I'm on the hunt for the plastic one.

I don't remember there being a cage at all when I installed mine... I believe it's secured with a long nipple on the back of the unit itself... But I don't remember :( bump.

The metal case is for aftérmarket radios.

Do you know how the stock one is secured?

Usually the stock radio has no cage IIRC. The little winglet tabs on the the side of the radio expand outward when you tighten them with an allen key and should hold the radio in place as long as the support arm in the back is still there with the foam padding etc. Ive had a few cars with stock radios and never seen them with a plastic cage. Hope this helps, GL.
