    WTB: m20 alternator

    one that wont die soon would be nice

    also you must be willing to ship to kailua-kona HI 96740 (usps is usually the best)

    Yeah, but with your stereo, it isn't likely.

    Just to hijack your WTB thread, I am preparing to install a C140 GM alternator in my '87 325is. This should give me about 70 amps at idle, with a continous of 140A at anything over about 1700 RPM.

    It looks like it is going to be a fairly easy install.

      Sounds interesting. How much do the C140 alternators sell for? Be sure to post a how to with pics afterwards. I just found out the price of a rebuilt Bosch alternator and its pretty high.

        I am getting a core for free, the rebuild kit is sitting around here somewhere, about $60 IIRC.

        Generally they are about $175 rebuilt, AFAIK. I don't buy shit for alternators, I gets it fo free, yO!

        I plan on a complete writeup, including getting some software-savvy board member to "draw" the bracketry. I will post all I can.

          i installed oem one from a 5 series car, it had an m20 engine.
          it's one of those with the air intake thing. so far so good.
