FYI, the transmission he is looking for is the Getrag 260/6 which came on the 86-88 535i/is. Here is a chart of the transmissions:
83-84 533i ------ 260/5 ---- 1-Piece, least durable
85 535i --------- 265/5 ---- 2-Pieces, Most Durable (Removable Bellhousing)
