Are you fucking serious? I shipped 2 diving board bumpers with shocks and shrouds to New Jersey from here for $45. And I got my front AND rear plastic bumpers from New York for $250 shipped.

              Diving boards =/ plastics.

Think of how much smaller a box with a diving board bumper (or 2 plus shocks and shrouds) would be than a box with a plastic bumper.

Shipping companies figure shipping cost based on weight and/or dimensions of the box or item being shipped. In the case of plastic bumpers, they would measure the dimensions (length, width, height), multiply them together and then divide by a standard number (usually 164) to calculate "dimensional weight"- if dimensional weight is larger than actual weight- you pay for it. Most shipping companies simplify this a bit by putting oversize shipments in 2 or 3 oversize categories based on their size. A plastic bumper probably has a dimensional weight of like 100 lbs or so, even though it only weighs maybe 20-25 lbs.

That said, $185 seems a bit high, I would say ~$80-100 via UPS or Fedex ground.

              Bret.

I got qoutes from fedex, ups, usps. They are all around $180 because the box is over their 108inch mark that bumps every price up a ton. I like USPS but they won't ship without it being in a box.

Then you need to make a smaller box. You can get it within the shipping measurement requirements, I've done it. I shipped a rear plastic bumper for about $70.

Who did you ship with? I really want to get this bumper outta here, taking up room for other things.
