Looking for a good used complete s14, or just a good used s14 bottom end (no head)

-Not interested in motors that are a 'good deal, but needs some work' I already have an S14 like that ;)

Either reply to this thread, or email me at likewhoa.alo(at)gmail.com! Thanks!!!! -Aaron

wow, looks like a nice engine!

Thanks for your reply but I do not have anywhere near $6k. My budget is more like half of that. I bought my car for $7.5k if that puts it into perspective :pimp:

Just to clarify, I'm looking for an engine to get my broken car back onto the road, and not have to take it out to do major $$$$$ maintenance for a while. Doesnt have to be perfect, just want it to run well without smoking/weird noises/costly maintenance due right away.

Thanks in advance for anyones help!

        S14

With all your requirements on the S14 you should be ready to pay anywhere from $3000 to $4000 for a desent running S14, good ones are hard to come by, sold one about six months ago with over 100K for $3500, good luck finding one.

The prices are one thing I'm def aware of ;) been watching FS ads for these things since my bearing spun over 2 years ago.

thanks for your input and have a great day!

Funkmasta: Spun a main bearing, figure once i tear the motor apart to repair it (if its repairable, i dont know how much damage is inside) with all the cost associated Id be better off finding a good runner to do some preventative maintenance on.

            Thanks for your interest!

hey dude! i guess it depends on the price i could get for it, i was plannin on takin the bottom end apart this summer and either doing the bearings myself or partin the motor. It still runs/drives but it has a bad knock!

I guess the only other thing i would be thinkin about is that if i end up buying a long block only i would need all the accessories (intake plenum/valve cover/throttle bodies/header/alternator etc.)

What kind of timeline were you looking at? Good to hear from ya!!!

Main bearing was what the "professional speculation" i paid for came up with, so thats why im under that impression.

When I first heard the knock I nursed it back home approximately 2 miles. It's not like I take it out to run to mcdonalds or somethin like that. Curb your sarcasm ignorant sob..

I'm no teenager. I poured every ounce of money I had into that car to maintain it before it broke. So sorry I couldn't afford a $15k M3, but who are you to pass judgement like this? I posted how much I bought my car for as a point of reference for this thread, not so you could make fun of my income. How about you get the fuck out of my FS thread and go big dick someone else with your internet ego.. jesus.

And obviously a $1700 S14 would need some work, but the motors so cheap that I would have money left over to do some maintenance if in fact it was a good runner.. maybe it's a steal and it's actually a great motor, who knows! It's worth looking into at least instead of assuming it sucks. You assume a lot.

So sorry guys, just really pisses me off when someone thinks they know everything, seems like he was going out of his way to put me down when all I'm trying to do is get my car back on the road.

                            Back OT..
