    How much is M50 shortblock and head worth ?

    What's the going fair rate on a used but working/good condition / average miles m50 block and head ?

    $400.

    You will pay out of the yinyang to complete the engine with

    Harness $100
    Manifold $100
    TB $40
    Alternator $40
    PS pump $40
    ICV $20
    Engine mount arms $30

    That takes you to $390, and you still need a DME ($120 - 150). So, not worth it unless you already own an E36. For swap guys, get as complete an engine as possible.

      So $400 for the block and the head + the parts you listed ? Not too bad, but it would make more sense to just buy a complete e34 engine right ?

        Yeah, $400 is a good price for just the block and head.

        It'd make more sense to buy a complete e34 or e36 engine. The e34 oil pan is getting harder to find for a reasonable price, so you might be better off getting the e34 m50.
