Just buy one from one of the chain auto parts stores and grind down the outside wall until it fits. Should be able to pick one up for $8-10 and spend about 10 minutes on it with a grinder and you're done.
Someone loaned me one he bought at Advance Auto. It is for removing a sensor on a Ford diesel pickup. That's as much as I know. It was only bout $6, is a deep socket, and no grinding required. I'm going to get myself one very soon. :)
GM oil sender socket, 1 3/16 I think? $6 at a northern tool if you have one local or you can mail order. The bav auto tool is like 40 and it really sucks, i broke one in like 2 minutes. FYI, I had to torch mine, I think they are loctite'd on, or at least mine was. I broke 2 sockets trying to get at it, torched it with MAPP gas for 3 minutes or so and was able to get it.
if you're putting enough torque on it to be breaking things, that should your cue to step back, either you're not getting penetrant where it needs to go or you need to heat it up. Like I said, I broke 2 sockets before torching it. After a couple minutes under the torch I was able to get it off - even with a broken socket.
