For everyones info, I just need something to fill the slot. I think $20 is generous for a 17 year old OEM POS.

you may be able to get one without a code for $20 on ebay but I've seen them go as high as 80, even without a code

generous? lol you cant put anything in there for 20 bucks, so yea 20 is cheap, not "generous" for a stock radio

You seriously believe that an OEM junk radio from '89 is worth more than $20? You can't compare an old beat OEM to buying a new headunit at market price. Apples to Oranges.

I'm just trying to avoid a trip to the junkyard but if I have to then I'll go.

                  Try craigslist.

I found one with weather band for $15.00, but no code, but I was able to get a code for free from another BMW forum.

I just took the HU out of my car and the wires are all hacked up so I can't use the OEM one anymore. The PO threw away all the stock clips.
                    Thanks anyway
