      Did you break it? Or can you not get the old seal out?

          Both. I dinged up the housing trying unsuccessfully to get the old seal out. The dings don't appear to be on a critical surface, but I could have warped the whole thing. In any case, I don't want to put the engine back together and have a big problem.
