I have one that is in really good condition and locks that should work well on an E30. I had it on my 2002 a few times, but it just sits in my garage now. Where in SoCal are you located? Shipping might not make it worth it, but if you are somewhat local it could work.
don't get cheap $40 covers. they won't stay on and will rip so you just end up wasting money. I bought about 3 of those until I got a custom one which will last for awhile b/c of the quality of materials used. It was about $150 but worth it if you have no garage.
Have a garage but it's reserved for cars I use everyday when its 102* outside. ;)
Tinfoil sounds like a plan. Should work for the interior too. Jiffy-Pop style.
I had a great cover when I had my miata. It was heavy and great in the rain/snow (in MD).
I know a generic will look frumpy but $150 can get me some suspension parts or go towards the maintenance I want to get out of the way... decisions, decisions.
If you're still looking...
I have one of those nicer, thicker covers that I should probably sell. Bought it used and never used it since I don't like to put a cover on a non-clean car.
