    WTB: Early 318i a/c & heater box

I am looking for an 84 318i heater / a/c plastic box w/o the heater core or a/c evaporator. I need the box to be not broken with the wiring intact.

Here is a picture of what I am looking for, before I tossed it.

I don't need the blower fan or resistor either, just need the correct box/wiring to fit into my car.

    Thanks much!

I've got an excellent one from a '92 325i Cabrio E30, not sure 100% about fitment in your car. $75 shipped for the whole thing.

It has to be an early one, I already have an 88+ one and they are not the same.

Jean, there are 3 84, 318i'S at a local junk yard. I could swing by there tomorow and grab it for you?

Can you circle in red what you need? So there is no confusion

I need the whole box that's under the dash with the wiring.. I don't need the blower fan, the heater core and it's lines, a/c evaporator or the lines.

Basically I need the plastic box/housing with the wiring harness that's on it. The harness unplugs on the driver side under the steering console, it's one plug. The other end of the plug is attached to the relays and wires on this box, and finally goes to the blower fan area / resistor.

The box mounts to the chassis with 4 10mm nuts at the firewall area, the four nuts are accessed from the engine compartment where the blower fan is. You'll need deep socket 10mm socket as the "bolts" or studs are long and a short socket won't work.

Let me know if you'll be able to do this and you price :)

              Thanks much!

Should be doable, I will just rip their dash out! and borrow a deep socket! PM me with a price you think is fair and I will let you know on shipping

Sounds good. The dash is only held in place with 5 bolts on the early cars, 2 on the left side above the hood release handle, 2 on the right side once you open the glove box you can see them, one under the steering console. there is no abs or airbag computers / wiring to deal with and the knee bolster comes right off w/o any additional bars or support under it. The front a/c blower switch panel is 2 small screws behind the defroster/stereo fader control switches and two underneath (facing up) above the ashtray area. The easiest way to do this would be to remove the e-brake console (1 plastic nut) and then the front console (1 nut under the shift boot area) and two plastic 'bolts' near the firewall at each corner of the front console. Then drop the glove box from it's two straps (don't have to remove it completely, it won't be in the way). Now remove the dash (if the windshield on the car is gone it's way easier to remove the dash that way, through the windshield instead of 'Over the steering wheel area, and out the passenger side'). Then under the hood remove the cover at the firewall to get to the 4 nuts holding the blower box to the firewall. The blower fan is held on with a metal "strap", there strap has 1 pinch hole that you can push on with a good sharp object like a phillips screwdriver to undo it , don't go at it at an angle or you'll bust your knuckles.

This info might be useful to others as well I don't know.

                  I'll pm you.
