    Early Model Lip

I need the lower lip for the valance of early model or DB bumper cars. I will consider the IS spoiler too if the price is good. I prefer local pickup around Los Angeles. Send me some pictures and we can talk about the price.

Wow...spoken like a true Los Angelino.

"Got a fairly rare and difficult to find part that came out in only 1 year? I will be nice to you and buy it if you sell it cheap and bring it to me".

Yeah, good luck on that one. I know of one, about $350 shipped to LA, decent condition, Zinno, I think.

    Closing SOON!

"is" lip meaning "is" front spoiler? From 87? I have one, shipping probably wouldn't be too bad.

I don't think it has anything to do with someone living in L.A. It's many of the guys on this forum. Just about everybody wants to buy parts dirt cheap. Plus, I have had a couple of guys ask me for a much better deal because they are "forum members". Oh sure....

Prices for used BMW parts are set by what they bring on eBay. Maybe that's not what some of you guys think, but it has become a fact of life in the last few years. I'm not a big fan of eBay even though I had done over 3,000 transaction on there, the majority of which were BMW parts. They get way too much of my money in seller fees each month.

I will always give someone a better price if I sell them the part via this or any other forum, but I won't give my parts away.

The interwebz is great, and it sucks at the same time. If someone is a prick or just a PITA to deal with, I can ignore them until they go away. On the other hand, if someone asks me about a part I have- saying "I can get it cheaper from this guy on Ebay"...my reply is usually- GO AHEAD and buy it from some unknown seller on Ebay, just don't come crying when you:

A- get the wrong part and the seller says tough shit
B- get a broken part and the seller says tough shit
C- send your $$ but get NOTHING, and the seller disappears

I don't expect to make tons of money parting cars, it's something I do on the side to help finance some of my car projects- I buy parts cars that have a part/parts that I need or want on them, and sell the rest. Thing is, my time is worth something to me- so when someone offers me $20 shipped for a part that will take me 1 hour to pull, guess what? They're not getting it for that. Now, if someone local comes by and pulls a bunch of parts, they're likely to get a helluva deal- because they just saved me a ton of time by pulling their own parts.

I've been a BMW fanatic since ~1984, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon- I'm not going to take your money and run. I'll be the first to admit that sometimes a part will arrive and not be what the buyer expects, or it will not be 100% perfect once it's installed. In those cases, I ALWAYS make it right once the buyer brings it to my attention. I'd rather eat the cost of a part + shipping than to have an unhappy buyer. I really couldnt' care so much about people slamming me on the boards, I just really do think it's wrong to sell something to someone if they're not happy with it.

Back On topic.........I don't really see anything wrong with what the OP posted- except that he's kinda vague about exactly what he wants........ You either have the black plastic curled-under lip that came on the early cars or you have the i/is lip that came on the later cars- they are not really interchangeable between early + late valances......or were you asking for the early is airdam?????????????

          Bret.

Many of us on eBay selling older BMW parts have been doing it for many years. If a seller has been there for a year or more and his feed back looks OK then he should be trusted to do what he says he will do. The way eBay and PayPal work now you have to be a real dumbass to get screwed anyway. At least when I make a sale on eBay I know I probably will get paid and that's not the case on the forums.

Recently someone made a "Parts Wanted" post looking for a set of stock injectors for an M20 2.5i engine. I e-mailed him and offered a set of nice ones for $30 including shipping. He e-mailed me back asking why I would sell them so cheap? I told him I have a ton of injectors and included a photo of some of them -

After exchanging 6 e-mails and I also tried to give him some advise on injectors, I get this from him - I also told him I would go through the 0 280 150 175 injectors I have and I must have a dozen sets or more, and send him the best looking ones. I'm going to be selling them as cores before long anyway as no one wants them anymore.

alright Bruce this is what i am going to do. I have another guy i am talking to i am going to get the last word from him. Trust me though unless he says something amazing in his next msg i will most likely be buying from you. I am trying to get at least payment out of the way today so i need to be asleep in about 4 hours if no word or not good enough word comes from him in 3 hours i will email you again and we can start going down that road. Already then ill be emailin later bruce.

I don't want to waste my time when I might get underbid by another person by $1 and not get the sale after spending as much of my time as I did on this. I see stuff like this all the time selling parts on forums, sorry.
