My moms auto E30 325i diff is on its way out. She needs a cheap working diff for her car. Im looking for a 3.73 open or 4.10 open. She is located in Southern NJ in Cherry Hill.
Just find a 3.73 open diff and she will be fine with it and maybe even get a little better fuel mileage. They are easier to find than the 4.10s are also.
i have a 2.79 open that will be great on gas if thats what you are looking for, but i am in NC and do not know if you want to pay shipping, 50$ + shipping and its yours
FYI - An M20 2.5i automatic car is fine with the 3.73 ratio as the early cars came with it from the factory. It also will be OK with the 3.64 or even the 3.46 unit if your Mom is more into fuel economy than performance. Any ratio higher than a 3.46 will be a big mistake for her car with the automatic trans though.
The guys offering to sell you the way too high 2.93 units shouldn't be doing that, a ratio that high behind an M20 2.5i engine may kill the automatic transmission. Don't do it and just find an open 3.73 diff for her car, keep things simple for her as she doesn't really need an LSD diff probably.
