    WTB: C33 head unit...

Well, the KE-91 head unit in my parents E34 took a crap recently, so we're looking to upgrade to the C33 unit found in the E36's. The nicer the better, I'm sure they'd spend at or around $150-175 for a nice, non-pixelated unit. Show me what you've got, it should look something like the unit below...

I didn't realize that they came in E34's, I thought they were exclusive to the E36. Anyways, I'd have to see some pictures first. No shiny or worn buttons, no depixelation or backlight issues. If yours fits the bill, I'd love some pictures.

Do the 'rents have a changer? If so, check compatibility carefully.

They don't, but I believe the car is wired for one.

Pray tell, what should I look for?

If they have no changer, all is good.

I don't know exact specifics, but I do know that the '92 changer is different from all others.

The deck should plug and play though.

If the deck is from a (E36) 318, you might have input level issues. Those cars did not have amplifiers IIRC.

Hmm, good information. The car is a '95 540i, and after further inspection I noticed that it is wired for a CD player (not changer) and a in-car phone, if that makes any difference.

              Bump.

Trey, I bet if you looked you would find a changer cable near the phone wiring, in the trunk.

I have yet to see an E34 that didn't have changer wiring.
