WTB: 90 325is engine wiring harness

well, I picked up one for an 89 and aparently it isn't the same. the injector harness is diffrent among a few other things.if anyone has one from a 90 is fs please let me know, or if you know what I can do to modify this one to make it work that would help too. thanks.jam

hmm, i wasnt aware they were different. Are you sure its a 89 harness?

I wasn't aware either. I bought it from jean, and was told it was for an 89. I figured it would work fine on my 90 but a friend who is doing the work just called me and told me the injector harness is diffrent.

mattdk how much do you want for the harness? by newer, would you know for sure if it will work on my 90is?

Odd. It came out of my white 89 325i, let me know if you need it's build date and I can grab that?

I'll get you the build date, but I wouldn't know if they are the same or not. Have you checked on realoem?

Wait a minute... the harness on the 1989 and 1990 M20 as installed in the E30 cars should be the same. Tell us why it won't work, OK? That way we can figure out what's going on.

So, one of you guys probably has an earlier harness? The 1989 cars were the first year that used that POS plastic housing on the injector harness. Maybe that was a mid-year change or something, but all the 1989 and 1990 cars have it that I have seen.

The cars are 20 years old and stuff gets switched around all the time. All RealOEM is going to tell you is what was on the engine when new and that may not be too helpful after all these years.

I see stuff all the time that isn't original according to the published info for a certain build date. That's why if we know why it isn't the correct harness it might be easier to figure out what is needed to make it work. Just sending a harness that is for sure from a 1990 car still might not be the correct one. Is anyone understanding what I'm trying to say? LOL

Makes sense to me... how often would a harness need to be changed though, who knows right?
