    WTB: 323i flywheel (also E21/6 and early E28 M20)

I need a new flywheel for my 318is.

    The flywheel I need comes from an E30 323i (probably 320i as well, but I'm not sure), any E21 6-cylinder, or an early E28 M20 ('82-'84 528e).

I'd also consider a standard B25i flywheel, or any single-mass that will work with the M20/M42.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

I don't have the early ones, but I'm pulling one off an 1989 M20B25 in a couple of days. If it will work for you, how about $60 including shipping ?

Yeah, that would be great. If you get it off before I find a lighter flywheel, then that works for me. Keep me updated.

I'd considered using the 323i flywheel you sold me earlier in the year, but I'm selling the car and want to keep the goodies for myself...

Those 323i flywheels are still hard to find and I don't see many of them. Even the early E28 ones are getting scarce now.

Ya know the 2.5 flywheel is a good upgrade for the M42. I have been told that the light factory flywheels are maybe too light on the M42, but I haven't done the conversion myself and don't know for sure. I have friends that have the 2.5 flywheel conversion and it seems about perfect to me.

JB Racing's unit seems a bit on the light side for a street car, at 9 lbs. The buzzy 4-banger could probably use a bit more rotating mass out back. The B25i unit should be good, but I may still take a bit of mass out of it.

We actually have an 11/82 production 528e 5-speed at work in the parts yard. I need the flywheel, bellhousing, and lots of stuff from it, but I cant work on the dirt. We have been too busy to mess with it lately.

might still have an extra 323i flywheel down in the basement. Will check when I get home.
