Want to BORROW parts in SoCal

It is coming time for my race team, Team Porcubimmer, to fire up our $400 '87 325e and head to another 24 Hours of LeMons race. The weekend after Xmas we'll be heading to Thunderhill in NorCal to once again battle head to head around the track with a bunch of piles of junk. We're hoping to redeem ourselves after the car died on the track earlier this year due to a bad computer and blown clutch. Here's a video of our car at speed last year.

Our car is coming together and will be up and running shortly, and we're ironing out the logistical details of getting the car up there (which is a challenge considering none of us own a truck or trailer). But what we really need right now is spare parts.

Things like control arms, wheel hubs, strut housings, axles, alternators, water pumps, electrical bits, etc. are very good to have. Even bumpers would be a good idea. Anything that would be likely to fail on a 20 year old car after racing 12+ hours against 90+ other $500 crap can race cars (with varying degrees of driver experience - rubbin' is racin'!).

We don't have the budget or space to have a spare parts car or to raid the junkyard for spares, so we are hoping we can *borrow* some spare parts from someone in SoCal. Basically we'd take the parts with us, use whatever we have to use, and then can return the parts back, but pay for anything that we do use. If there are any shops or junkyards interested in this, we can do this in exchange for sponsorship logos on our car (and this race is well covered on the web and by automotive magazines).

Let me know if you can help. Email me directly at LTDScott at gmail dot com

    Thanks!
    Scott
