WTB: 4.10 medium case open/ruined diff

looking for any medium case diff with 4.10 gearing. doesnt have to be LSD, doesnt have to be in great shape. Just want a good pinion and gear.

i am willing to give 150$ shipped for this.

oh, and as an added bonus, if i get one, i will post a complete DIY on how to install the ebay OBX LSD.

i have a 4.27 open if you have any interest in that. will be pretty tough to find one lower. it is a small case from a 318i vert and it is actually quite rare i am told. should not matter what size the case is. the internals should be the same whether small or medium.

i believe the internals are smaller diameter on the small case vs medium case. my project requires a medium case to work. thanks anyway.

the small case has a smaller diameter ring gear, so they cant handle as much torque. thats why the 318 came with a small case.

I have a couple of E34 parts cars that I think use the medium case diff. Don't know about 4.10 gears, though. Both were autos. One is an 89 (M20), the other a 91 (M50).

I'd be happy to sell you a diff - I've been looking at the OBX LSDs on ebay, but haven't found any evidence of anyone running one here or on BF.c

Let me know if either of these will work for you. I'll do some looking on realoem to see what they are.

yes i actually ended up with two 4.10s....

i also have the OBX, however i havent had a chance to open it up and verify the internals. im ordering new bearings and seals today. im also waiting on a deflection gauge to measure backlash.

however, my e30 is in pieces right now, and the canadian summer is short. so i think it's gonna become a winter project unfortunately and i will finish the summer with the open 3.73 or 4.10, hopefully.
