      aux fan and condensor

I have it on my 1985 318i parts car if it will fit. They are in pretty good shape, condensor has no visable rust and the aux fan spins freely. I will pull and sell for $80 shipped in the Continental U.S. including Canada I accept paypal

      Thanks

ill keep your offer in mind, however i believe 1985 = magna fan. not exactly the same, and i would prefer to avoid splicing wires. i want a clean oem install.

          I understand

It is better to do OEM year to year without splicing. If you decide differently or want just the condenser let me know.

          Thanks

If you can reuse your old fan blades, I can offer you a fan motor to replace yours + a good non leaky condensor for $60 shipped. Just remove your old motor and replace with this one.

Fan motor came from my old car - a good running fan - fan blade broke.
Condensor came from my new track car, 1/89 build.

how easy is it to reuse the fan blades? i failed at separating the fan from the housing because of the temperature sensor. could not figure out how to remove it from the housing. any insight?

Fan is held in by 3 nuts at the back. They are usually covered in a sealant, so chip away at the sealant and undo the the nuts. Next, on the front of the fan you will need to push down the end of star shaped locking plate so that you can undo the nut. Undo the nut and push the fan off the shaft.

When reinstalling the fan blade put locktite on the back nuts. Push up the side of the star shaped locking plate on the front of the fan once you torque down the front nut.

As for the wires, they should just come undone at the resistor using 2 screws. Don't cut any leads - there should not be a need to.

yeah i had the first part checked out. the nuts were all rusted to shit and just sheared off. but the motor still separated. the only thing holding it back was the wiring to the resistor which is installed and the fan housing. however, i dont understand the fasteners used to hold it. they look like one time use pop rivets or something. not screws.

Pop rivets on the resistor?? Magna or Bosch resistor? Sounds like a Magna maybe.

Yea should look like this then. If that is the case, you have to splice it in, but my fan is a bosch, so I'm guess this might not work. Never tried swapping them.
