As far as I knw the only thing that matters is the code plug in reference to the car. That being said, I have a VDO fuel guage. make me an offer.

91 318i (iS) has the little fuel tank...not sure if the early 55 liter gage works. Someone who knows, chime in. I have early 55 liter and late 63 liter US gages (E-F) if that works 4 u.

Are the guages themselves different? As far as I know all of that stuff is controlled by the codeplug.

Tested it myself...only thing that maters is the fuel gage. Tested numerous early / late clusters to sell on eBay in an early car. RealOEM shows 83-94 fuel gage in any cluster no matter rear or front mount codic plug.

Code plug controls the tach.
