Car has been having starting issues and intermittent engine failure. Think its possibly the ECU but the only way I know of testing it is with one that you know that works. Anyone got one that they would like to sell? Thank you!

Unless you have a chip, just get the replacement 325i 173 ECU.

Will the 173 work even tho mine came with a 153?
I've narrowed it down to something electrical. One of the only things that I haven't tried was the ECU and something tells me, after reading all of the posts about it, that it might be the problem.Comment

Yep direct replacement, and it has more chips available. The 173 gray sticker superseded the 153 green sticker.Comment
