    WTB: Maplight mirror stabilizer

I don't know how else to explain it...

I put a maplight into the e30, and the back of the arm, near the top, has a male-threaded lug that is supposed to have a bit screwed onto it (female) to press against the windshield, for stabilization.

I don't need a whole mirror, just the piece that threads onto the arm to press against the windshield.

Thanks in advance. If you send a price, pls. include shipping to 13104.

I think the difference is in what model the mirror was installed in at the factory. If it was an E30 it had the little adjustable brace. If it was an E23, E24, or E28 it didn't have it. At least I have heard that is the difference between the mirrors and it could be true.

This is a picture of where the stabilizer should attach:

I just bought the same mirror from another member, I hope it has the thumbscrew with it or I'll be looking for one too...

            Mike -
If you do get one, please please send me the part #. RealOEM.com does not show a "thumbscrew" on any diagram I can find, even for maplight mirrors.

Yeah, I checked RealOEM already, not even in the picture... When I get the mirror in, which should be soon, I will let you know. I'm really hoping it's still on there...

All you need to do is find something to screw into the adjuster and make your own little brace. Some of the maplight mirrors don't even have the brace.

I'm trying to concoct a rubber foot of some sort, holding captive a nut that would thread onto the nub; but I'd rather have the real-dealio.

Hey JP, got the mirror in, and it does have the thumbscrew on it... I can't see any part number on it though, it's pretty small. It's just like a round cap on the screw end... Sorry I couldn't be more help!

i got a mirror without the thumbscrew either. is there any way to get this to stop vibrating without the thumbscrew? i was thinking maybe somebody clever may have made a bracket or some other way of stabilizing the mirror
