Recently bought an e30 318is and was told the timing chain guides would need to be replaced but the car was in great mechanical shape otherwise. Turns out the guy ran the engine with a broken timing guide, and instead of fixing the guides, he decided to run the engine until the chain wore through the block. He then jb welded the hole shut and sold it. I could go through the process of finding X amount of parts but I could also just swap a lower km engine in. If anyone has one that they'd be willing to sell let me know.
