anyone interested in a T60 Thinkpad laptop?

    i believe it's a 12 inch display

2.0 Ghz duocore, 1 gig ram... VISTA Business installed and validated, with Office 2007

XP CD with key available too if wanted

I am getting rid of it coz I want bigger display. If you have a 2.0Ghz+ T60/T61 I can trade plus cash?

Let me know will let it go cheap

I think this was $2k new about a year ago.
my 325i project info page - lots of pics.. maybe V8 swap? lol.. http://www.fmotorsports.com/main/ind...ewtopic&t=1907

    Please define "cheap."

I love thinkpads. They are my lapotop of choice.

Also, what is the 7-digit model number? (On a sticker on the bottom, something like 2007-62U)

There never was a T60 with a 12" display manufactured-it's going to be at least a 14.1" 4:3 screen if it is a T60. The only Thinkpads currently made with a 12.1" screen are the X60/61 series. List the 7 digit model number on the bottom as photonn mentioned and we will know exactly what it is.

          They are also fragile.
(Ask Lenovo about boards flexing and glue breaking...)

That said, if well taken care of they are wonderful, wonderful machines.

where do they use glue in laptop construction.... unless your reffering to thermal paste?

never have i come across glue disassembling a laptop.

ps im using a think pad right now.

I worked tech support for a major business school for almost 2 years. Thinkpads are thin because a lot of parts on the motherboards are actually glued instead of screwed together.

One of the things that kills these laptops is holding them with one hand, like a frisbee (palm on the bottom). The weight of the screen causes the whole chassis to flex right above your fingers, and doing this a lot will eventually cause motherboard failure.

Once they get worn, we had some that you could put pressure on the keyboard or palm rest and lock up/blue screen/restart a computer. Grad kiddies in a very expensive school really used to freak out, then we would just give them a loaner with their hard drive and wait for Lenovo to repair (actually, replace) the motherboard. Their turnaround time was less then a month, and we'd usually send them about 5 laptops at a time.

Yep, the T4x series were especially bad about doing this-although of all the Thinkpads I have owned over the last 15 years, this T4x is still about my favorite. I have owned a T60p and now a T61p and they are great laptops-although I will admit that I never use the T61p anymore since I bought one of the new aluminum Macbooks last fall.
